BTX Caliper 电极是一种体内可复用的卡钳状测径器电极，有多种应用，如在体内进行基因和**的传递，也可经皮肤应用及在完整的植物上应用。该电极由一个测径器和一对末端电极组成，共有两种类型：45-1型的末端为一对1x1cm黄铜制末端电极，适用于小动物，45-2 型的末端为一对1.5x1.5cm或2x2cm的不锈钢制末端电极，适用于较大的区域表面，两电极间的距离可以调节。

当把感兴趣的分子注射到体内以后，用电极板夹住相关目标组织，然后给出电脉冲，电场通过电极在组织细胞间形成暂时的孔道，使分子进入到与电极接触的组织细胞内。
The BTX Caliper Electrodes are in vivo style re-usable electrodes that are used for a variety of applications. Caliper Electrodes come in two models, with each modeconsisting of a caliper and a pair of end plates. Mode384 are used for smaller animals with a smaller surface area, while mode384L is used to target slightly larger surface areas. The end plates of the Caliper Electrode may be adjusted by using the black roller mounted on the caliper. Caliper Electrodes may be cleaned with a mild detergent and sterilized with ethanoor ethylene oxide. Properly maintained Caliper Electrodes have an unlimited life, and are compatible with most BTX Electroporattems.

Applications

Caliper Electrodes may be used for many electroporation applications, including drug and gene delivery. The electrodes span the target area following injection of the molecule of interest, and electroporation pulses are delivered using a BTX Electroporattem, such as the ECM 600, ECM 630, ECM 830, ECM 2001, or T820. The electric field introduced by the Caliper Electrodes cause transient pores to form in the cells of the tissue, allowing uptake of the molecules into the cells. Prud''Homme et al. used the Caliper electrodes to deliver plasmid DNA to skin for gene therapy studies on diabetes.1 Mir et al. used the Caliper Electrode for in vivo skeletamuscle work2 as welas subcutaneous tumor electrochemotherapy applications3. Caliper Electrodes can potentially be used for intact plant work as well.4

Caliper Electrodes complement BTX Tweezertrodes Mode520, 522; BTX Genetrodes Mode508(S) and 510(S); and BTX 2 Needle Array Electrodes Mode530, 531, 532, 533 as part of the BTX in vivo electrode line. Caliper Electrodes can be used to reproduce applications requiring Tweezertrodes (transdermal) and Genetrodes/2-Needle.
